ICT
At Wainstalls we are ahead of the game when it comes to ICT. We've already spent many hours in the classroom 3D Modelling, programming and making animations. Furthermore, our subscriptions to Purple Mash and Espresso Coding will ensure that all our children will meet (or indeed exceed) national guidelines when it comes to ICT learning and experiences.
We also invest heavily in ICT hardware - our ICT suite is fully equipped with brand new Lenovo laptops - creating a learning environment where each child has their own computer during ICT lessons. Having new laptops also means that our collection of Lenovo All-In-One desktop machines have been distributed to the other classrooms in order to promote additional learning using technology. We also have printing and CAD technology for designing and creating models.
Coding\Programming
Coding is now of huge importance in Primary schools and, using Mr Riddlesden's 20 years of experience in this area, our children build algorithms with loops, variables and sequences using a wide range of programming resources. Currently, in school we utilise Scratch, Kodu, Espresso Coding as well as the Purple Mash 2code facility. These resources can all be used at home, either by free download or clicking the links in the Student Portal (click here). If you need help using these links, please contact Mr Riddlesden.
