On Wednesday 5th July, Class 2 went to visit the Ilkley Toy Museum. It was a really fantastic day. We spent the morning looking at old dolls’ houses, old dolls and teddies and old games. We got to watch a mechanical train on a track, a toy fairground move and a Zoetrope which made moving images.
After lunch we handled old toys and visited the shop. The oldest toy in the museum was a Corinthian Terracotta Dancing Doll from the 4th Century BC! Some of the toys were excited about were the Jacob’s ladder and the clockwork train.
